Nail Addict Society is a personal blog created and edited by me, Sheera Gersh. I have been a licensed nail technician for 20 years. In those years of working behind the table, comes love, passion, stories, experience, hard work, and literally blood, sweat and tears. In those 20 years, I have become a salon owner of Addicted to Nails located in Tempe, Arizona. I also hold many certifications of completed continuing education. I have been a product tester and educator for two major nail companies. I have been published in both fashion and professional trade magazines multiple times. I graduated college with a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies degree in Sociology/Psychology, and later received two certifications in advanced life coaching from Southwest Institute of Healing Arts.
A few things you should know about me, I write how I speak. I am brutally honest which includes profanity. I don’t beat around the bush.I am open minded. I love to learn. I am passionate, driven and have a strong work ethic. I am a workaholic and totally nocturnal. I’m blessed (and sometimes cursed) with a successful business that I worked my ass off for, it wasn’t handed to me. I believe that you get more giving then getting….and I wouldn’t change a damn thing!
Nail Addict Society had been a concept I wanted to create years ago, and later inspired from a face book group, Scra2ch.Phoenix that I am the editor/curator. This group shares trends, tips, and discussions about nail art. I have also conducted many interviews with local nail artists in the Phoenix area as well as across the globe. Aside from being salon owner/nail artist and running two face book groups, Scra2ch.Phoenix and co-admin (with Sherri Evans) for Arizona Nail Technician’s Network. As of December 2015, Arizona Nail Technician’s Network is has over 300 members. This particular group allows Arizona licensed nail technician’s to network with each other, ask for advice, post job and education opportunities and sell equipment and supplies.
In October 2015, I received an email from Scra2ch welcoming me to The Salon Entrepreneurship Program for Aspiring Nail Artists. The fellowship consisted of 115 nail artists from 21 different countries and 96 different cities. The concept of this program is to challenge fellows to further develop their professional and entrepreneurial goals. Being part of this program has been anything but boring, I have been inspired and motivated to evolve as a professional and expand my theory as a entrepreneur.
